General Motors 23223079 – Block

This product was to replace a 2015 2.5l Chevy Malibu defective part. I attempted to obtain clarification on what this included and there was no response so I took a chance it did contain the Dual Batty Isolation Module and it did.Apparently the DBIM are defective on some GM products. In my case the rear battery was charging and the alternator was operating the vehicle as it was suppose to, however it was not charging the main battery that starts the car. I was getting P058D DTC and at one point a notification of “Battery Saver Active”. This unit resolved the conflicts and the main battery is charging again.I stated the DBIM was defective as I removed it from the epoxy they sealed it in and found rust and other corrosion inside. This should not be possible the way it was sealed. This newer one used a clear resin over the gray that came with the factory part so I am hoping the issue is corrected. They lost a star for not providing better description of the part and not answering the question.
