I have used many cleaning kits and patches from various companies. I found this kit to be simple yet well thought through. First off the patches are thick and more like a cloth than the thinner or cheaper options. I felt like this material had a better scrubbing action but in addition to the material they can be cut exactly to size. The fact that they can be custom cut directly off the roll is perfect because they can be used for the bore, receiver, or body of the firearm to optimize the cleaning effort. For example cleaning my . 22 I was able to cut 4 small patches to fit the bore, a full size square to clean the receiver and a double wide for general cleaning and touch up of the rest of the stock. I was able to place the core on a rod on my workbench for ultimate convenience! The cotton swabs are literally perfect as they are long handled wooden sticks with pointed cotton tips. This allows access into tough areas and the ability to really deep clean in all the crevices. I needed 7 swabs for this job. Also the nylon brush is great where it has the larger brush and also a small narrow brush. This allows access into otherwise impossible areas. I used the large micro fiber cleaning cloth to capture all the spilled oils and lubricant and to fine tune my finish after cleaning. Although I haven’t used the lubrication bottles just yet, I intent on buying some bulk lubricant and these will be filled for some kits I want to set up. All in all I’m very happy with this setup and it worked very well for my needs!
